Oracle Fusion HCM BASE HR Changes Release 12 New Features

The Navigations for Base HR has changed, the user access has been made simpler.

1.    Under the Section About me you can now find " Skill and Qualification" / "Career Planning"
About Me > Career Planning and About Me > Skills and Qualifications

2.    The Menu My portrait and Talent profile items have moved to simplified navigation Directory > Search the Person > Person Gallery

3.    Person Spotlight is a new feature now available in R12 – worker details that were previously available from the
Directory > Search for him/herself > Click on his/her name > Person Spotlight. The employee can access to all cards properly, but the access path is very long and it is not acceptable to ask an employee to search for himself in the directory. Workaround: Use the Deep link functionality though to the public person page.

4.    Enhanced Add Person Flows
The Employment Information page is split into two train stops:
 1.  Employment Information
 2. Compensation and Other Information

5.    Areas of Responsibility
Areas of Responsibility are responsibilities that a person has as part of his or her job. Such responsibilities have a defined scope, such as a country or department. For example: an employee may be the Human Resources Representative for a group of organizations; or an employee may be the Benefits Representative for a group of employees whose names are in the alphabetical range A-K; or a contingent worker may be the Union Representative for the workers in a particular country. Areas of responsibility can also be used to secure access to person records in a dynamic person security profile.
The Areas of Responsibility page also shows a new Recruiting responsibility type and new scope attributes based on
recruiting type and hierarchies (to be used for a future enhancement).

6.    User Accounts
The automatic creation of user accounts and notification of user credentials for users loaded in bulk can now be controlled so that they are not created.

7.    Extensible to User for specific Person Lookup Types
 CONTACT
 MAR_STATUS
 PER_HIGHEST_EDUCUATION_LEVEL
 PER_NATIONAL_IDENTIFIER_TYPE
 PER_ETHNICITY
 PER_VISA_PERMIT_TYPE

8.    Display of Flexfield information can now be viewed on the Review page when edited for jobs, positions, grades or locations.

9.    Synchronization of Grade Ladder from Position
Grade Ladder has been added to the Position Synchronization Configuration section

10.              The Generated User Account Flag and Send Credentials Email Flag  at Enterprise HCM Information level attributes
of the Worker object will be defaulted to N (No). Set to Y (Yes) for selected workers to create user accounts and notifications.

11.              Changed Rules for Populating Grades and Grade Ladders in Assignments
You are now able to use the Default Valid Grades profile option independent of the Enforce Valid Grades profile option to populate valid grades in an assignment.
The Default Valid Grades profile option will populate the grade in a new assignment.
The Enforce Valid Grades profile option will restrict the Grade LOV in the assignment to only show the grades that are valid for the job or position.
  Manage Profile Option > Search for PER_DEFAULT_GARDE_FROM_JOB_POSITION / PER_ENFORCE_VALID_GRADES

12.              New Position Attribute – Standard Working Hours
New field available on the Create and Edit Position pages to support capture of standard working hours, which can be different from working hours to support part-time positions.
The field shall be utilized in calculation of FTE Count.
